From outside of the Greater Toronto Area, including Ontario cottage country as well as out-of-province, there is inexpensive travel available by either Greyhound Bus and/or Via Rail Train (see below for details).
TRAVEL BY AIR
Fly to Toronto International Airport in Toronto. TRAVEL BY "VIA RAIL" TRAIN - FROM OUTSIDE GREATER TORONTO AREA
Serving all major cities and town centres in Ontario and Quebec including Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City, Niagara Falls, London, Kingston, St Catherines, Sarnia, Windsor. Also serving New York City and Winnipeg. www.viarail.ca. Take Via Rail train to downtown Toronto, Union Station. Union Station is a 10 minute walk to the Toronto Island Ferry docks. From Union Station/Front St walk two blocks south on Bay Street to Queens Quay. Ferry docks are on south side of Queens Quay at foot of Bay St (on west side of Westin Harbour Castle Hotel). Alternately, take the TTC "Bay Bus" #6 southbound from the corner of Front and Bay to the Bay and Queen's Quay stop.
TRAVEL BY BUS - FROM OUTSIDE GREATER TORONTO AREA
Greyhound bus service is available from all major Ontario cottage areas, Including Wasaga Beach; Collingwood; Barrie; Muskoka (Bala, Port Carling, Gravenhurst, Bracebridge, Huntsville); Bobcaygeon; Midland, Orillia, Parry Sound, Peterborough, Sudbury, Kitchener, and Waterloo. www.greyhound.ca.
Take Greyhound Bus service to downtown Toronto Coach Terminal at 610 Bay St (at Dundas St). Greyhound Toronto Coach Terminal is a 15 minute walk south on Bay St to the Toronto Island Ferry docks at the foot of Bay Street (at Queens Quay). The Ferry docks are on south side of Queens Quay on the immediate west side of Westin Harbour Castle Hotel. Alternately, take the TTC "Bay Bus" #6 southbound from the Toronto Coach Terminal to Queen's Quay stop.
TRAVEL BY CAR
From East of Toronto:
Take 401 West to Don Valley Parkway (DVP). Follow Don Valley Parkway South to Gardiner Expressway. Once on Gardiner Expressway, take the Yonge/York/Bay exit. Turn left onto Yonge Street and then right onto Queen's Quay. Ferry docks for Toronto Island are immediately to the west of the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel at Bay St.
From North of Toronto: Take Highway 400 South to Highway 401 West, Highway 401 West to Highway 427 South, then Highway 427 South to Gardiner Expressway Toronto. Take the Yonge/York/Bay Exit to the Yonge ramp. Turn right at the first light and proceed to Queen's Quay where you will right. Ferry docks for Toronto Islands are immediately to the west of the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel at Bay St.

CAR PARKING: Public parking is available 1 block north of the Ferry Docks/Westin Harbour Castle Hotel at Lakeshore and Bay; 1 block west on Queens Quay between Bay and York Sts; 1 block east at foot of Yonge St opposite Toronto Star building adjacent to Captain Johns restaurant.
